How To Market with Articles
I am going to be up front with you. If you get into Forum Marketing with the sole purpose of making money, you will not. Why? I don’t know. It just happens.
But if you go in with the intent of sincerely and genuinely wanting to help people, the money will come.
I guess what I am trying to say is that making money is an end result of aiding people. Call it karma or whatever, that is how it works.
So we have made our first post as explained in Part 2 now it is time to get into it. A word of caution here. Don’t go all out posting umpteen times a day for a week then drop off. People notice that. They will pick you as a spammer for sure.
Spend your first week in the forum asking genuine questions that you have. I will take it for granted that not everyone reading this article is currently in the Age Of Infinite Wisdom? By that I mean that none of us here profess to know all there is to know about our niche? Good.
With that in mind there are definitely some questions about our niche that we want answers to. Ask away.
Take their advice on board. If it gels with you that’s great. If it doesn’t, ditch it. It is no bigg deal.
You will find that quite a few people will respond to your question. Lot’s of forum members like to answer unanswered questions. It builds their credibility and post count. (More on that in a future article)
After 4-5 days of asking questions it is time to take the plunge and answer questions from others. This is how I started answering. I related how I solved the same problem. For example, if someone asks why their page is not being picked up by the search engines, you can tell them that same thing happened to you and what you did to get it indexed was blah blah blah…
See the point? You are not busting in there saying Do This, Do That. You are telling them how you solved the same problem. You told them the methods you used and that these methods worked for you so they should for them. Remember, we are not being Gung Ho to start off. We are presenting ourselves as someone who can help. Over time your credibility will rise.
As a tip I always finish a post with the following:
HTH OR hth which stands for Hope This Helps followed by your name. Once again, this tells people that I am not a know-all but someone who tried to help.
Next article we will talk about some Do’s and Dont’s.
